George Lopez, Wife Who Donated Kidney to Him Are Divorcing After 17 Years

George Lopez and his wife, screenwriter Ann Serrano Lopez who famously donated one of her kidneys to him, are divorcing after 17 years.
"George and Ann Lopez have made the decision to end their 17-year marriage. The decision is amicable and by mutual agreement," read a joint statement from his rep. "They remain dedicated parents, and committed partners in business and their philanthropic organization, the Lopez Foundation."

The two have a 15-year-old daughter named Mayan.
In 2005, Serrano Lopez donated one of her kidneys to Lopez after a genetic condition caused his kidneys to deteriorate. The couple founded the Ann and George Lopez Foundation to raise awareness about kidney disease.
Lopez, the 49-year-old host of Lopez Tonight on TBS, and Serrano were photographed together at the Padres Contra El Cancer's 25th annual gala just on Thursday.
