Leif Garrett pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a felony drug charge.
The 1970s teen idol's lawyer, Andrew Flier, said authorities illegally searched Garrett when he was arrested Feb. 1 at a Los Angeles subway station, according to The Associated Press.

Garrett, 48, was arrested after he was found to have what appeared to be a small amount of black-tar heroin, according to a Los Angeles County sheriff's department spokesman at the time.
Garrett was sentenced to 90 days in jail and three years' probation in March 2006 after being arrested for heroin possession that January. In March 2005, Garrett was also arrested for cocaine possession, to which he later pleaded guilty.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled March 16. His attorney could not be reached for comment.
