Diane Sawyer to Interview Gabrielle Giffords on Two-Year Anniversary of Shooting

ABC World News will air a sit-down interview with former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords on the two-year anniversary of her shooting, ABC announced Sunday.

Giffords, along with her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, spoke to anchor Diane Sawyer for the interview, which ABC News previewed via a picture on Twitter.

Giffords suffered a gunshot wound to the head on Jan. 8, 2011, while speaking to constituents at an Arizona grocery store. After having to undergo intense rehabilitation therapy for her injuries, she resigned from Congress the following January. Giffords and Kelly did their first sit-down interview after the shooting with Sawyer in November 2011 timed to the release of Kelly's memoir, Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope.
