Jennifer Lopez and Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox were among the winners at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night. The awards recognize various media for fair, accurate and inclusive representations of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.
Lopez was the recipient of the evening's highest honor, the Vanguard Award, which was presented to her by Rita Moreno. Cox won the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which was given to her by Ellen Page. Named in honor of the late casting director, the award recognizes an openly LGBT member of the entertainment or media community for his or her work toward eliminating homophobia.
