Fringe has temporarily shut down production for two weeks as star John Noble seeks treatment for a sleep disorder.
Fringe's final season will pay off big for longtime fans
As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, production was originally only suspended for the remainder of the week because Noble and co-star Blair Brown were fighting colds. However, the delay has now been extended to at least Aug. 7. Noble, 63, was also absent from the show's final Television Critics Association fall TV preview panel for the series on Monday. At the time, showrunner J.H. Wyman said Noble was "under the weather."
Filming on the show's fifth and final season started last Wednesday, but was first paused on Monday for the TCA panel. The delay in production is not expected to affect Fringe's season premiere, which is set for Sept. 28 at 9/8c.
