Fringe Promotes Seth Gabel to Series Regular

Seth Gabel, Fringe

Amidst the bloodbath of cancellations at Fox, there's good news for one series: Seth Gabel has been promoted to series regular on Fringe going into its fourth season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Fox cancels Human Target, Lie to Me and Chicago Code

The 29-year-old actor has recurred as Fringe Division boss Lincoln "Linc" Lee from the other universe since last season. The recent Season 3 finale on May 6 left the door open, literally, to upping Gabel's role when Peter (Joshua Jackson) created a gateway that bridges the two universes. Our universe already has its own Linc, though, who we saw once in a March episode working behind a desk at the FBI.

Gabel previously starred on ABC's Dirty Sexy Money and has appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and United States of Tara.

Fringe finale: Guess who never existed?

The news comes on the heels of Fox canceling five bubble series -- Human Target, Lie to Me, The Chicago Code , Breaking In and Traffic Light — to make room for new comedies I Hate My Teenage Daughter and The New Girl and dramas Finder and Alcatraz.

TVLine.com first reported the news of Gabel's promotion.
