Fox Breaks Up With Dating Show Take Me Out

Fox has fallen out of love with Take Me Out. The dating show, hosted by George Lopez, has been let down easy, as the network opts to dump the show on Saturday nights. (Take Me Out previously aired on Thursdays, paired with the equally low-rated The Choice.)

Fox will air Take Me Out this Thursday as previously scheduled. But after that, the dating show will be replaced on Thursday, July 12 with a special episode of Mobbed at 8/7c, followed by what the network is billing as the "season finale" of The Choice (which completes its six-episode run) at 9/8c. That same week, on July 14, Take Me Out will move to its new Saturday home at 9/8c, behind the return of Cops at 8/7c and 8:30/7:30c.

Mobbed will also air on Thursday, July 19, at 8/7c, followed by back-to-back repeats of New Girl at 9/8c.

Take Me Out follows 30 women as the compete for the attention of an eligible bachelor via a speed dating-like contest. Fox had ordered eight episodes of Take Me Out, which debuted on June 7. Take Me Out's most recent airing last Thursday attracted just 2.3 million viewers, and a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.
