Pilot Season: Star Trek's Karl Urban to Star on Fox's Human

Karl Urban

Star Trek's Bones is getting Human.

Karl Urban, who plays Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the rebooted Trek films from J.J. Abrams, has landed the leading role in Abrams' futuristic buddy cop drama Human, TVGuide.com has learned.

The pilot is set in the near future, when LAPD officers, including Urban's John Kennex, are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. Kennex is a respected officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission left him critically injured. Michael Ealy will play Kennex's robot partner Dorian.
