Pilot Season: Fox Orders Dramas from J.J. Abrams, John Wells

J.J. Abrams

Fox has given pilot orders to dramas from J.J. Abrams and John Wells, TVGuide.com has learned.

An untitled project from Abrams' Bad Robot will reunite the just-named Star Wars: Episode VII director with Fringe's J.H. Wyman for an action-packed buddy cop show, set in the near future, when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. Wyman will write and executive-produce alongside Abrams and Bryan Burk, while Kathy Lingg will co-executive-produce.

Boomerang focuses on the usual, everyday drama surrounding a family business — except this family is in the business of executing hits as assassins for the U.S. government. Davey Holmes will write and executive-produce alongside Wells and Andrew Stearn.

Are you glad to see the Fringe team partnering up again?
