Fleetwood Mac is canceling upcoming tour dates in Australia and New Zealand because bassist and founding member John McVie will be receiving treatment for cancer, the band announced Sunday.
"We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates," the band said in a statement on its Facebook page Sunday. "We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best."

Details about what type cancer illness McVie is battling were not given, only that he "is scheduled to be in treatment for cancer during that time."
Fleetwood Mac — whose current touring lineup consists of McVie, singer Stevie Nicks, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and drummer Mick Fleetwood — recently wrapped up the European leg of its world tour and was scheduled to play 14 dates in Australia and New Zealand over the next two months.
McVie, 67, originally founded the band with drummer Mick Fleetwood in 1967.
