First Look: Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie on NBC's Fashion Star

NBC gets into the fashion business this midseason with Fashion Star, hosted and executive produced by Elle Macpherson (yes, playing the role here of Heidi Klum).
The competition show also includes "celebrity mentors" Jessica Simpson (pre-alleged baby bump?), Nicole Richie and John Varvatos. The series follows 14 designers as they put on a major fashion show each week and compete for a chance to launch their lines at Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Buyers from all three stores will purchase some of the work each week (which will immediately be available in their stores), but designers who to fail to sell their wares are eliminated.
