Farrah Fawcett

Friends and family gathered to mourn Farrah Fawcett at a private funeral Tuesday at a Los Angeles cathedral.

The star's longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, was one of the pallbearers. The couple's 24-year-old son, Redmond O'Neal, also attended, according to the Associated Press. O'Neal is enrolled in a yearlong inmate drug rehab program at Pitchess Detention Center for violating his probation on drug charges. Last week, a judge granted his request to attend the funeral.

Fawcett's friend Alana Stewart and former Charlie's Angels co-star Kate Jackson also attended.

In a statement, Stewart said that Fawcett was "much more than a friend; she was my sister, and although I will miss her terribly, I know in my heart that she will always be there as that angel on the shoulder of everyone who loved her."
