Fantasia Barrino hospitalized after drug overdose; "heartbroken" over affair allegations

"I can't thank my fans enough for their prayers and support during such a challenging time," she said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "It has given me the motivation to get back to work ... I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this album and I pray that everyone enjoys it as much as I do."

The Season 3 American Idol winner was hospitalized last week in what police classified as a  suicide attempt. Barrino's hospitalization followed a woman's allegations that the singer engaged in a "covert adulterous affair" with her husband, and that Barrino was to blame for their separation in June. Barrino denied that she was responsible for the marriage ending.
