Time to update our Fall TV Scorecard!
Just days before NBC is set to show its entire hand for the 2009-10 TV season, the network picked up the freshman drama Southland for 13 episodes.
Southland could return in the fall, meaning that NBC thus far has two 9 pm dramas — Law & Order: SVU included — in the bank for the first half of the season. That's important to monitor, since Jay Leno's new show will claim the 10 o'clock hour every weeknight.
Earlier this week, NBC renewed The Celebrity Apprentice. Previously, the Peacock officially picked up new seasons of 30 Rock, The Office, Friday Night Lights (midseason) and The Biggest Loser, while Heroes' return is considered a done deal.
NBC will hold its "in front" fall TV presentation this Monday. The other major networks show off their wares the week of May 18.
