FX Picks Up The League For Fifth Season

The League

FX will continue to be "forever unclean" for at least another year. The network picked up raunchy comedy The League for a fifth season Thursday.

Best TV shows of 2012

"The League is flat-out one of the funniest shows on television," Nick Grad, executive vice president of original programming for FX Networks said in a statement. "Co-creators Jeff and Jackie Schaffer have such a perfect take on the material and the show has an amazingly talented ensemble cast of stars. Another season was an easy decision and we hope to have it on our schedule for many more years to come."

Production on 13 new episodes will begin next summer with Season 5 premiering in fall of 2013.

Has your favorite show been canceled?

"It's a dream job," said Jackie Schaffer, "we get to make a show we love with a brilliant cast on a fearless network. If the Mayans and Dirty Randy are right and the world ends tomorrow, at least we can say we made it to Season 5."

The League's two-part Season 4 finale airs Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:30 and 11 ET with returning guest star Jeff Goldblum.
