Friday Night Lights' fifth and final season will premiere on NBC on Friday, April 15 at 8/7c, a show rep confirmed.

The football drama is currently wrapping up its first broadcast run on DirecTV, with the series finale scheduled to air next Wednesday.
NBC saved the critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged series from cancellation in 2008 when it struck a deal to air new episodes first on DirecTV. In 2009, NBC ordered two more 13-episode seasons under the same arrangement.
