Exclusive Video: Jaleel White Hosts Syfy's Total Blackout

Jaleel White, Total Blackout

If Neil Patrick Harris can put Doogie Howser behind him, then surely Jaleel White can shed his Urkel legacy. White — who became a pop culture icon as nerdy Steve Urkel on the 1989—98 sitcom Family Matters — is undergoing a career renaissance this spring. As was announced this week, he's in the cast of the new season of Dancing With the Stars, which premieres Monday, March 19. The following month he begins another gig as host of the new Syfy competition series Total Blackout.

In Total Blackout, which the network calls an "extreme game show," contestants are in the dark — literally. With the lights out, players must blindly face challenges that include solving puzzles and navigating obstacles, all with scary or gross themes.

Check out this exclusive first look at the trailer for Total Blackout. The series premieres Wednesday, Apr. 25 at 10/9c on Syfy.
