Exclusive: Mob Doctor Showrunner Teases Bones Easter Eggs

Bones; The Mob Doctor

Poor Grace. On Monday's New Year's Eve-themed Mob Doctor (9/8c, Fox), the not-so-good doctor (Jordana Spiro) finally finds herself with a few spare hours, only to get pulled into yet another one of her brother Nate's schemes. This time, it involves a stolen racehorse.

But hey, it could be worse. At least she's not with her boss, Constantine (William Forsythe), when he receives a rigged-to-blow bottle of bubbly. As for who'd be inclined to send the mobster such a dangerous gift, executive producer Josh Berman admits the pool of suspects isn't exactly small. "It's someone from Constantine's past who we've met in prior episodes," he hints before clamming up. "I don't want to ruin the surprise."

Berman has more surprises in store for fans; specifically, Bones fans: Easter eggs. Berman, a former consulting producer on Bones, says they'll range from the obvious (keep an ear out for a certain junkyard dog's name) to the subtle (including one provided by Bones creator Hart Hanson).

The first viewer to spot and submit them via Twitter @BermanJosh wins a yet-to-be-determined prize. "I loved working on Bones," Berman says, "so I wanted to do something for those fans on this show." Consider them a parting gift; The Mob Doctor finishes its first (and last) season on Jan. 7.
