Exclusive: Disney Channel Sets Premiere Date for Next Original Movie, Girl Vs. Monster

For its next original TV movie, Disney Channel has created a monster. The network is set to announce shortly that Girl vs. Monster will premiere on Friday, Oct. 12 at 8/7c as part of its Halloween-themed month of programming.
Girl vs. Monster centers on a 15-year-old singer who discovers she's part of a long line of monster hunters. Olivia Holt (Kickin' It) stars as Skylar, a teenager whose parents refuse to let her attend and perform at a major Halloween bash. When she tries to sneak out, she unleashes a monster by accident — and eventually learns of her family's unusual heritage.
Besides starring in the movie, Holt also performs three songs. Her single "Had Me @Hello" will premiere Sept. 21 on Radio Disney.
Disney Channel will air a sneak peak of Girl vs. Monster on Friday, Oct. 5, as the movie's cast hosts a night of programming. After the movie's Oct. 12 premiere, Girl vs. Monster will appear on iTunes, Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox starting Tuesday, Oct. 16. Girl vs. Monster will be available via WATCH Disney Channel from Saturday, Oct. 27 through Wednesday, Oct. 31.
