Eva Longoria

NBC is developing a sitcom from Eva Longoria's production company starring young up-and-coming comedian Erik Rivera.

Rivera, who's been on the stand-up circuit since 2004, peppers his act with jokes about growing up half-Puerto Rican and half-Guatemalan. The NBC script is based on Rivera's act and will be written by Peter Murrieta (Wizards of Waverly Place).

Longoria, Murrieta, Ben Spector and Rivera are all attached as executive producers on the comedy, through Universal TV and Longoria's unbeliEVAble Prods.

Rivera recently appeared on Tonight Show with Jay Leno and also toured the country as part of NBC's "Stand-Up for Diversity College Tour" in 2010. Murietta's credits also include Greetings From Tucson, Hope & Faith and Level Up.

As for Longoria, the busy actress can currently be heard lending her voice in the lead role on Hulu's animated Mother Up, just uploaded yesterday. Longoria also executive produces Lifetime's Devious Maids and has several other projects in development at ABC, CBS, The CW and NBC.
