Pilot Season: Eva Longoria's First Post-Desperate Housewives Gig Is….

Eva Longoria and Marc Cherry

Eva Longoria is staying close to her ABC and Desperate Housewives roots for her first new gig following the end of the drama series.

The star is set to executive-produce ABC's Devious Maids pilot from Housewives creator Marc Cherry, TVGuide.com has confirmed. Deadline first reported the news.

Everybody Loves Raymond's Doris Roberts to visit Desperate Housewives

Based on the Mexican soap and written by Cherry, Devious Maids follows four women harboring their own dreams and ambitions while they work for Beverly Hills' rich and famous. Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez and Susan Lucci will star in the pilot, which is also executive produced by Housewives' Sabrina Wind, as well as Paul Presburger, Larry Shuman, David Lonner, John Mass and Michael Garcia.

When Cherry and ABC President Paul Lee first announced that Desperate Housewives would be ending in August 2011, he sounded eager to work with Longoria again. "I told Eva, 'I'm just going to put you in a van and have you solve mysteries!'" he joked.

This is the first pilot Longoria will executive produce. No word yet on whether she will make an appearance in front of the camera.
