Oops! Emma Watson Stopped at Airport, Mistaken for an Unaccompanied Minor

Emma Watson

Emma Watson certainly doesn't look her age — just ask security officials at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport.

The Harry Potter actress, 22, was stopped at a passport checkpoint over the holidays by agents who thought she was an unaccompanied minor and was asked where her parents were, she recounted on Twitter.

"Passport control: 'unaccompanied minor?' Me: 'sorry?' Passport control: 'where is ur guardian?' Me: 'I'm 22!!!!!!!'" an abashed Watson tweeted on Dec. 22, adding the hashtag "#neverwearingabackpackagain"

"The really sad thing is that this is not the first time this has happened," Watson added.

Watson starred in The Perks of Being a Wallflower last year, but is most widely known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, a role she landed at the age of 9.
