Elizabeth Banks Sells Comedy Series to Fox

Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks and her writer-producer/husband Max Handelman have sold a comedy series to Fox. Touted as a combination of the zombie film Shaun of the Dead and NBC's My Name is Earl, the show will be called Dave's Dead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress, who plays
Avery Jessup on 30 Rock, won't star in the series but plans to serve as co-executive producer with her husband. Eric Siegel and Eric D. Wasserman (The Hard Times of R.J. Berger, Roommates) have signed on to write and executive-produce the project as well.

Banks and Handelman aren't the only Hollywood couple to head behind the scenes— Courteney Cox and David Arquette have sold the comedy Ten Years to NBC.
