Eliot Spitzer is poised for a comeback — on cable.

The former New York governor, who resigned amid a prostitution scandal two years ago, has talked to executives at CNN and MSNBC about hosting a show, according to The Associated Press.

Since leaving office, the 50-year-old attorney has been a guest on programs including The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher and The Rachel Maddow Show. Last week, he filled in for Dylan Ratigan on MSNBC. The network currently has an open 10/9c slot.

CNN, meanwhile, is looking to fill its 8/7c hour following the departure of Campbell Brown last month.
