Elin Nordegren got away from her marital drama with Tiger Woods and celebrated her 30th birthday New Year's Day with a trip to a swanky Alps ski resort, according to US Weekly.

Surrounded by twin sister Josefin and close friends, Woods' wife has been hitting the slopes in France's Chamonix Valley and staying in a luxury chalet that runs about $12,500 a week, according to the magazine.

A family friend told the British tabloid The Sun that Nordegren wished to escape "from the minefield Tiger has created by his behavior" and that Elin told her husband "she needed a lengthy time apart to reflect on how they might possibly salvage the marriage."
Meanwhile, Woods — who turned 34 Wednesday — remains out of sight.
