Scoop: Criminal Intent Alum Needs Eli Stone's Help

Jamey Sheridan, who played Law & Order: Criminal Intent's Captain Deakins for more than five seasons, now is seeking his own sort of justice, playing a client of Eli Stone in this season's 11th episode.
Sheridan will guest-star on the ABC dramedy as a Dan Rather-esque evening news anchor who is "banished" to 5 am Siberia when his reporting starts raising the hackles of network advertisers. Eventually, the newsman is canned, though Eli & Co. must navigate around the sticky wicket of an incriminating email in which Sheridan's character effectively quit, thus voiding his lucrative, multi-year contract.
Sheridan is also familiar to TV fans for his run on Chicago Hope, and for playing Ozzie Nelson in a 1999 telepic about teen idol Ricky Nelson. He also has appeared in such films as The Ice Storm and Cradle Will Rock.
