Dylan McDermott to Star in Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story

Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott will star opposite Connie Britton in the FX drama pilot, American Horror Story, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

From executive producer Ryan Murphy, the series centers on Ben Harmon (McDermott), a sensitive therapist, and his wife, Vivien Harmon (Britton), who move to San Francisco after Ben makes a terrible mistake that damages his family — only their new home may not be the best place to start over.

As previously announced, Oscar-winner Jessica Lange will play their prying neighbor, while True Blood's Denis O'Hare will play a mysterious burn victim named Larry.

American Horror Story is the brainchild of Murphy and Brad Falchuk, co-creator-executive producers of Fox's Glee and previously FX's Nip/Tuck. Murphy will direct the pilot. Glee's Dante Di Loreto will also executive-produce.

The news was first reported by Deadline.com.
