How Much Is a Drink with Anne Hathaway Worth?

Everyone in Hollywood has a price — even Anne Hathaway.
The actress, currently starring in Rachel Getting Married, was attending the recent Trevor Project's annual Cracked Xmas gala at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles and made an impromptu decision to put herself up for auction.
Proceeds raised (including $7,000 for a walk-on role on 30 Rock) benefit the Trevor Project's suicide hotline for gay, lesbian, transgender and questioning youths.
"I didn't know there was going to be an auction," said Hathaway, who was there to present the Trevor Life Award to Sigourney Weaver for her role in the upcoming Lifetime movie Prayers for Bobby. "I'm not usually very forward, but I thought if there was ever a crowd for me to do something like this with, this would be it."
Hathaway promised she and the winner would go out for drinks and get "totally s--t-faced," which drew a huge round of applause from the thousands of attendees. Bidding started at $500 and quickly jumped to $5,000. After some fast and furious bidding, the auction for drinks and dish with the actress closed at a whooping $12,000.
Later, Hathaway presented Weaver with her award. The Trevor Project honored Weaver for her role as Mary Griffith, a real-life mother who had an epiphany about tolerance and understanding after she pays the ultimate price for rejecting her gay son (who commits suicide).
"I think Mary was ignorant of the facts," Weaver told TVGuide.com in an attempt to understand the woman she brought to the screen. "She was afraid, so she didn't listen to her son [even though] she loved him very much. I think that kind of fear and ignorance is still with us. I hope that Prayers for Bobby is a movie that is in every library [so] that many families can see it."
Prayers for Bobby airs Saturday, Jan. 24 at 9 pm/ET on Lifetime.
