Downton Abbey Promotes Troublemaker Rose for Season 4

Lily James

Well, this should make things interesting.

Downton Abbey is promoting Lily James, who played Lady Violet's troublemaking great niece Rose, to a series regular for Season 4, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Downton Abbey and more of TV's most heartbreaking deaths

As fans may recall, Rose sneaked away from the Crawleys while in London so she could hang out with a married man. The little escapade was covered up from most of the family, but the Dowager Countess sussed it out and sent Rose back to her parents in Scotland. James, 23, will help fill the void left by cast members Jessica Brown-Findlay (Lady Sybil) and Dan Stevens (Matthew), both of whom exited this past season.  In the Season 3 finale, Rose's mean mother gave Rose the OK to move to Downton, at least for a little while.

Among other new faces set to pop up in Season 4 is that of Lady Mary's new love interest, a role which has not yet been cast.

Are you excited to see more of Rose?
