Doctors: Hillary Clinton's Blood Clot Is Between Brain and Skull

Hillary Clinton

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was rushed to the hospital earlier this week for a blood clot stemming from a recent fall, and doctors said Monday the clot is located between her brain and her skull. But, the former First Lady is said to be "in good spirits" and is expected to make a full recovery, CBS News reports.

Clinton suffered a concussion after she became dehydrated and fainted several weeks ago. During a follow-up MRI on Sunday, doctors discovered the blood clot and the Secretary was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, according to reports.

In a statement issued Monday, Clinton's doctors said she suffered neither a stroke nor neurological damage as a result of the clot, and was being treated with blood thinners.

"In all other aspects of her recovery, the Secretary is making excellent progress and we are confident she will make a full recovery," they said. "She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family, and her staff."
