Discovery and Man vs. Wild's Bear Grylls Part Ways Over Contract Dispute

Bear Grylls

The Discovery Channel has fired Man vs. Wild star Bear Grylls, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Due to a continuing contractual dispute with Bear Grylls, Discovery has terminated all current productions with him," a network rep told THR. Grylls apparently wouldn't participate in two upcoming projects for which he was under contract.

Grylls, 37, joined the network in 2006 with the launch of the adventure series that drops the host into unknown environments, where he shows viewers how to survive. He also hosted the 2010 spin-off series Worst-Case Scenario.

Grylls has not yet commented on the split.
