HBO revisits the Louds for An American Family movie

An American Family, which ran for 12 episodes in 1973, is famous for candid on-camera moments such as Pat asking her husband, Bill, for a divorce and their eldest son, Lance, coming out.

Cinema Verite will be directed by Shari Springer Berman and Bob Pulcini (American Splendor) from a script written by David Seltzer (The Omen). Gavin Polone will produce the film.

Lane, who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Unfaithful, is also starring in the upcoming horse racing drama Secretariat.
