Desperate Housewives' Brenda Strong Lands a New Narrating Gig

Brenda Strong

Wisteria Lane may be gone, but Desperate Housewives narrator Brenda Strong is heading back to the recording booth. Strong has signed on to narrate Investigation Discovery's new true crimes TV show, Blood Relatives.

The show, which chronicles dark, real-life family dramas (such as murder, kidnapping and revenge conspiracy), debuts Thursday, June 7 at 10/9c. Strong (whose character, Mary Alice Young, committed suicide back in the Housewives pilot) also stars in TNT's upcoming Dallas revival.

Investigation Discovery president and general manager Henry Schleiff says the network was drawn to Strong's "mysterious and calculating tone." Says Schleiff: "As the distinctive voice of Desperate Housewives, one of television's all-time great dramas, Brenda's narration of Blood Relatives adds an emotional depth to an already compelling series."
