Dean McDermott Suffers Collapsed Lung in Dirt Bike Accident

Dean McDermott is recovering from a punctured and collapsed lung he suffered in a dirt bike accident.
"Thanks for the well wishes. A collapsed lung is no fun, and is a lengthy heal," McDermott wrote on his Twitter account Thursday. "Feeling pretty bad today. Day 2 is always the worst."

The 43-year-old Tori & Dean star crashed Tuesday and was taken to an intensive care unit with a puncture wound on his right side, according to People. He's expected to make a full recovery.
"He's in a lot of pain," wife Tori Spelling told the magazine. "He's taking this as a sign and realizing family is too important to risk his life."

This is McDermott's second accident this year, fracturing his shoulder in January in a motorcycle mishap. McDermott gave up professional racing following his first injury, and now plans to stop riding altogether, Spelling says.
The couple, married since 2006, has two children: 3-year-old Liam and 2-year-old Stella.
McDermott is expected to remain in intensive care a few more days.
