Bold and the Beautiful Wins Top Honors at Daytime Emmy Awards

The Bold and The Beautiful was the big winner at the 38th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, taking home the trophy for Outstanding Drama Series for the third consecutive year.

It received four awards altogether, as it also tied in the directing category with another CBS soap, The Young and the Restless, while Heather Tom was named best supporting actress and Scott Clifton won best young actor. 

In the lead acting categories, the winners were Michael Park of As the World Turns and Laura Wright of General Hospital.

"Hell, yeah!" Wright said upon accepting the award. "This has been 20 years of the best career ever."

The Ellen DeGeneres Show took its second straight trophy for best talk show at Sunday night's ceremony, and The Dr. Oz Show won best informative talk show. Dr. Oz tied for best talk show host with Live with Regis and Kelly's Regis Philbin, who announced his retirement earlier this year, and Kelly Ripa.

PBS took home the most awards among the networks with 14, followed by ABC with 13 and CBS with 12.

The Daytime Emmy Awards, hosted by Wayne Brady, were broadcast live on CBS from Las Vegas.
