David Spade is gunning for more protection in his Arizona hometown.
The actor, who was raised in Phoenix, donated $100,000 to the city's police department on Monday to go toward the purchase of rifles, People reports.
"Asking there be no fanfare or media attention, Mr. Spade called last week and said he wanted to donate $100,000 to the Phoenix Police Department towards the purchase of rifles to help keep our patrol officers and community safe. This mutual agreement can now move ahead with momentum thanks to the generosity of Mr. Spade," the department said in a statement, which obviously won't attract any media attention at all.
The generous gift is part of a funding program created due to the rifle shortage, a result of the city's budget issues. Spade's donation will pay for 50 AR-15 rifles.
