American Idol Season 8 runner-up Crystal Bowersox has split with her record label, RCA/Jive, TVLine reports.
Bowersox, who will guest star on ABC's Body of Proof next Tuesday, tells the site she isn't sure where she'll end up, but she assures fans there is more music to come. "I'm gonna be making music if it's on my own label or if it's with somebody else," she said. (The 26-year-old folk singer did mention her fondness for Dave Matthews' label, ATO.)
Earlier this month, RCA announced it was closing the Jive, J and Arista wings of the label. Idol now distributes their winners' records with Universal Records.

Bowersox's first album, Farmer's Daughter, sold a mere 210,000 copies. She's currently working on her next album, which she hopes to release in the late spring or early summer of 2012.
"It's not my concern to make a commercial pop record," she said. "I want to make a record of music that I would listen to, that is lyrically rich and has songs that people can relate to... What becomes pop is popular, so if it happens to be popular, great. And if not, there are music appreciators out there who will like it and who will buy it and comes to my shows."
