Annie has gotten herself out of many sticky situations on Covert Affairs — but can she escape a murder arrest?
A very big problem washed up, literally, for Annie (Piper Perabo), Auggie (Christopher Gorham) and Joan (Kari Matchett) last week, when the body of fellow CIA operative and — Henry's (Gregory Itzin) mole — Seth Newman (Tim Griffin)had turned up in the Potomac, weeks after he died in a scuffle with Annie. On Tuesday's episode (9/8c, USA), Annie has to infiltrate the FBI's investigation, led by Rossabi (Noam Jenkins), to ensure that her secret is kept under wraps.
Fall TV: Hot scoop on your favorite returning shows!
"It's a predicament that Annie's never been in before," executive producer Matt Corman tells TVGuide.com. "She's had to keep secrets, but this is different. Her life and future are on the line. It's not just following and catching a bad guy, so you'll see her more vulnerable than [she has been]."
Complicating matters is the fact that it seems like Joan wasn't the only person who cleaned out Seth's apartment of incriminating evidence. All of this, of course, could be avoided if Annie could get her hands on the flash drive that was on Seth when he fell into the river to prove that he was the CIA leak and had been working with Henry. But the more she does, the more suspicious Rossabi becomes.
Covert Affairs: Does Auggie have more secrets up his sleeve?
"It's all going to come to a head in the final minutes, so don't miss it," executive producer Chris Ord says. "There are some revelations and some moves that are made that will propel us in the last four of this batch. Annie's life will change. The whole trajectory of her life and career as a CIA officer will change."
