"It's not a question of if he finds you — just a question of when."
That's what Calder (Hill Harper) says to Annie (Piper Perabo) on Thursday's Covert Affairs now that Henry (Gregory Itzin) knows that someone named Jessica Matthews is out to get him. But does he think that Jessica and Annie are one and the same?
TV wigs: Tricks or treats?
"That's a big thing to presume — that Annie's not really dead — but he's a paranoid guy," co-executive producer Chris Ord tells TVGuide.com. "His mind could go there. But he's quickly going to learn his life is being disrupted and I don't think he cares at that point by whom. What we've seen through most of Season 4 is Henry one step ahead of the game and one step ahead of our characters, but that's going to stop. Everyone's going to strike back in interesting ways."
Henry, of course, will strike back himself. On Thursday's episode (10/9c, USA), he enlists Calder to find Jessica, still ostensibly unaware that Calder is not actually on his side. Instead, Calder secretly meets with Annie, who reveals to him her alias and that she killed Henry's underling Goodman, as seen in the exclusive first look below.
9 bubble shows: Which will survive?
"Calder is in a very interesting situation. We know he's a good guy now, but he's playing Henry since he 'killed' Annie, so he has to toe the line carefully," co-executive producer Matt Corman says. "Does Henry suspect him? I think [Calder's] worried about what happens if he does. The longer Annie's mission takes, the tougher it is. Those dynamics are what these last few episodes are about."
So does Calder think Henry's on to him? And why did Annie reach out to Calder and not Auggie (Christopher Gorham)? Find out in the sneak peek.
Covert Affairs airs Thursdays at 10/9c on USA.
