Clint Eastwood has been tapped to direct a remake of A Star is Born with Beyonce as the lead actress, Deadline reports.

The story line centers on an aspiring Hollywood actress and an aging movie star who helps launch her career.
The first film, starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, debuted in 1937 and was remade twice since: once in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason, and again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
No word yet on who will play the male lead of the Warner Bros. film, which begins shooting in the fall.
