Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford

The man accused of extorting $100,000 from Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber has turned himself in to German authorities, The Associated Press reports.

Edis Kayalar, 26, walked into a police station late Monday, Stuttgart authorities said. Kayalar has been charged with one count of extortion and could face up to two years in prison.

Court documents claim Cindy Crawford, husband targeted in extortion scheme

According to court documents, Kayalar threatened to release a photo of the supermodel's then 7-year-old daughter that showed her bound to a chair and gagged. The girl told her parents the photo was taken by a former nanny during a game of "cops and robbers," according to an affidavit.

Kayalar later stole the photo from the nanny and has been attempting to get money from Crawford and Gerber since July, the affidavit said.
