Cheers & Jeers: Men of a Certain Age's Manfro for All Seasons

Ray Romano and Jon Manfrellotti

Cheers to Jon Manfrellotti for his surprising work on Men of a Certain Age.

The stand-up — who played Ray Romano's pal Gianni on Everybody Loves Raymond brings depth, humor and pathos to the role of Joe's cancer-stricken ex-bookie, Manfro. Their friendship takes a couple of unexpected turns over the course of MOACA's summer season, and you can bet the scenes between these two are as good as acting gets.

Those aren't the only surprises during the next five episodes of TNT's Peabody Award-winning dramedy. Scott Bakula has never been better, as Terry attempts to have a mature relationship with his long-ago costar Erin (the delightful Melinda McGraw). And when he and Owen (Andre Braugher, who deserves another Emmy nomination) take the field with Thoreau Chevrolet's softball team, the show truly hits it out of the park.
