The Colts' coach-turned-NBC-commentator criticized the Jets' head coach for repeatedly dropping the f-bomb during the HBO Sports docu-series' debut, telling radio host Dan Patrick
he was "disappointed with all the profanity... I don't want to be around that. If I were in charge, I wouldn't hire someone like that." He even suggested NFL commissioner Roger Goodell
should intervene. (By the way, Dungy admitted he didn't see the show, and to its credit, HBO bleeps the bad words when it re-airs the show in more family-friendly slots after its Wednesday at 10/9c premiere.)
Is he (bleep)ing kidding? The born-again Dungy may have run the Colts' camp like a Sunday school, but that doesn't mean Ryan needs to clean up his act. True to form, the Jets' top gun fired back: "I've been a big admirer of Tony Dungy, and I'm sure a lot of people are, but he unfairly judged me, and that was disappointing to me." Hey, Tony, the show's called Hard Knocks
for a reason!
