The Friends alum has been burning through TV series in recent years — RIP Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Mr. Sunshine. He's doing another sitcom pilot for next fall, playing a sportscaster undergoing group therapy in Go On. But his stellar turn as a passive-aggressive attorney attempting to railroad the investigation of a police-involved shooting (and hitting a roadblock named Alicia Florrick) suggests he might want to go in a more serious direction.
Perry wasn't the episode's only standout guest star: Royal Pains' Jill Flint returned as Kalinda's FBI pursuer (in more ways than one), and a veritable murderers' row of character actors comprised the blue-ribbon panel: Charles S. Dutton, Kurt Fuller and Peter Riegert. Oh, and The Sopranos' Jerry Adler stole the show as Lockhart Gardner's extremely senior partner, Howard Lyman. Such a heavy-hitting lineup is so good, it's almost criminal.
