The recipient of the 2011 Life Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild is five years older than last year's winner (who somewhat improbably took home a SAG trophy this year for Hot in Cleveland). The guy has done it all, making 164 movies, including classics like From Here to Eternity, Bad Day at Black Rock, The Wild Bunch, The Dirty Dozen and the Oscar-winning Marty as well as countless TV appearances (although we were mercifully spared clips of his role on the Must-Flee '90s sitcom The Single Guy).
And at 94, Ernie proved he's still got it, delivering a gracious acceptance speech after receiving tributes from fellow McHale's Navy vet Tim Conway as well as RED costar Morgan Freeman. Can an SNL guest-hosting gig be far behind? When it comes to this Borg(nine), resistance is futile.
Do you think it's time for an Ernest Borgnine renaissance?
