Father of Glee's Charice Killed in the Philippines

The estranged father of Glee star Charice was stabbed to death in the Philippines, The Associated Press reports.
Ricky Pempengco, a 40-year-old construction worker, was in a store late Monday in the family's hometown of San Pedro township when he accidentally brushed up against a drunk man, said the province's police chief, Gilbert Cruz. The man got angry and stabbed Pempengco with an ice pick in the chest and back, Cruz said.

Police believe the killing was random and a manhunt for the suspect has been launched with a 20,000 pesos ($470) reward.
Charice pulled out of concerts in Singapore, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, to return home.
"I am very sorry to all my fans from Singapore," she tweeted Tuesday. "I am not going to be there to be part of David Foster and Friends concert. I have to go back to the Philippines as soon as possible to be with my family. I hope you all understand. I love you all and I will see you next year."

The 19-year-old singer had been estranged from her father since she was a child and was raised by her mother, Raquel.
"I loved him and I will still love him," she tweeted. "He's still my Dad after all."
