Exclusive: Look Who's Coming Back to Castle!

Castle

Richard Castle is going to start 2013 with a full house!

Scandal's Darby Stanchfield will reprise her role as Castle's ex-wife Meredith in a January episode of ABC's Castle, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. And much to the chagrin of Castle (Nathan Fillion), she'll make herself right at home.

Mega Buzz: Castle's major family issues

Meredith comes to town to take her daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn) to Europe. But when Alexis falls ill with mono, Meredith moves into Castle's loft to take care of her. As if that wasn't bad enough, Castle will also be hosting his new girlfriend Beckett (Stana Katic), whose apartment is being fumigated.

Can Castle handle all three women at once? Doubtful, but it should be hilarious and all kinds of awkward to watch him try.

Stanchfield, who last appeared as the slightly crazy and oversexed first ex-wife of Castle in Season 1, currently stars as Abby Whelan on Scandal. She's also known for playing Gibbs' late wife on NCIS and has held recurring roles on Mad Men and Jericho.

Castle
airs Mondays at 10/9c on ABC. Stanchfield's episode, entitled "Significant Others," is scheduled to air in January 2013.
