Police: Casey Kasem actually on vacation when reported missing
The news comes as Kasem's children continue their legal battle against his wife, Jean. Jean has been in control of Kasem's medical care and has blocked three of Kasem's children from seeing him in the past months. (Watch his children discuss the issue on CNN here.) Kasem's daughter, Kerri Kasem, claims he suffers from Lewy body disease, a form of dementia that causes progressive decline in mental abilities.
Last month, after Kasem's children said they hadn't seen their father since May 6, a Los Angeles judge assigned a court investigator to locate Kasem, who was found at the home of longtime friends. A judge then ordered Jean to comply with a mandate to allow doctors to evaluate Kasem.
