Case Closed: Investigators Say No Evidence of Foul Play in Death of Natalie Wood

Authorities have determined no foul play was involved in the death of Natalie Wood, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The investigation was reopened in November, but it has not turned up any new information suggesting the death at age 43 was a homicide, William McSweeney, the sheriff's chief of detectives, said Tuesday.

McSweeney added that he's doubtful more investigating will change the overall conclusion that the actress' death was an accident.
In November 1981, Wood drowned off the coast of Catalina Island, which investigators ruled an accident. Back in 2010, Wood's sister, Lana Wood, appeared on CNN and pleaded with authorities to reopen the case. Wood said she believed an argument between her sister and her husband, Robert Wagner, on the yacht's back deck preceded her drowning.

Wood starred in Miracle on 34th Street and went on to make Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass and West Side Story. She married Wagner in 1957. They divorced in 1962, then remarried in 1972.
