Woman Sentenced to Jail for Threatening David Caruso
A woman who sent a death threat to David Caruso has been sentenced to seven months in psychiatric prison by an Austrian court, the Associated Press reports.
Prosecutors said Heidimarie Schnitzer, 42, sent more than 100 letters to the CSI: Miami star, including one two years ago in which she threatened to kill him after he refused to give her an autograph.
Schnitzer's lawyer, Andreas Grabenweger, said his client will appeal the ruling.
Schnitzer failed to show for her original July 2007 trial date and disappeared before her April 2008 date as well. After fleeing to Mexico, she was arrested by immigration authorities in February and deported back to Austria.
This isn't Caruso's only legal woe: Last week, his ex-girlfriend sued him for fraud, among other claims.
